Kuwaiti Basics (2): The Story of Kuwaits Anthem

I was wondering why do we call this day "Liberation Day", for me, Kuwait was always a free country. No one was able to steel its identity. I thought it is a good occasion today to talk about the story of the national anthem in Kuwait.
The recent Kuwaiti anthem was a poet of Ahmed Mishary Al-Adwany and the music of Ebrahim Al-Sola , distributed by Ahmed Ali. This anthem won the competition made for choosing a new anthem after the past Amiri Salut that has been used after the independence of Kuwait in 1961. And that was when Sheikh Subah Al-Ahmed Al-Subah was the governor of Kuwait.
The national day of Kuwait 25 of February 1978 was set to use the new anthem for the first time. Sheikh Subah passed away in 31 December 1977. By the day set to use the anthem, Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmed Al-Subah was Kuwait`s governor.

Warm Regards...
