Two Worlds in a Painting

I have always thought that the sun and moon, the day and night are contradictives, and contradictives never meet, until I had a chance to meet with this Artist`s work.
"Rob Gonsalves" a Canadian Artist (Born in 1959)  who had the gift of painting since his childhood. His interest in Architecture started to develop when he was twelve years old. His first Surrealistic drawing was painted after being affected by the art of "Dali"  and "Tanguy". His field was "Magic Realism" following the steps of "Magritte" with touch of "Escher".
Rob graduated as an architect. He was painting murals and theatre sets. In 1990 he left architecture to become a full time artist. Since then, the creation of the beyond the impossible artwork started. His paintings tell us that nothing is impossible and anything can be done.
Only in his painting I was able to see the curtains of night fall, the ships sail on the mountains and people bring the flood themselves to the city.
His first book "Imagine a night" was published on 2003, it contained 16 of his paintings. It was very successful that encouraged to publish another book in 2004 "Imagine a day". The book that won the Governor General`s Award in 2005. In 2008 his book "Imagine a City" was published.
"Rob Gonsalves" has 64 paintings. I am sure that you saw one of his artwork somewhere. I remember many emails I received about his work and how amazing it was, unfortunately, non of theses emails mentioned his name.
One day, I was walking in Michigan Ave, Chicago,IL. USA. and I saw some of his paintings in one of the galleries there. At that moment I saw his signature "Gonsalves".
I will present some of his paintings here and another collection is presented in the Arabic version.

Warm Greetings....
