Memories are all what we have. Everything comes and goes, and at the end all what you have is memories. I don`t think there are people who do not like to document their memories with nice photos. These photos make us smile in a dark rainy night when we are all alone except for memories.However, it is disappointing when we try to take our child`s first step but we discover we were late because we were setting the camera. Our daughter`s birthday shots were not good because the light was not enough. Our dogs shot is nice, however, it is blurry. These things happen every time.
I had a dream to be able to adjust the setting of my camera after I take my photos. This became somehow possible after the invention of photoshop. But, when your picture is out of focus, your picture is out of your collection. Now, thank you Lytro, it is possible to adjust the focus after taking it when you take their living photos. You don`t need to be a professional photographer. All what you need is to find the photographer inside you.
Lytro was developed through 15 years of research. It uses a new technique by using a new kind of sensor that captures the whole light field in contrast to other sensors that capture some light beams. The light field is saved in camera memory which lets you adjust your photos whenever you want. It also enables you to adjust the focus afterwards or zoom in with a touch of the screen.
The camera uses a lens with a large opening (f/2) which helps in capturing the largest amount of light in the least amount of time. This camera does`t need a flash nor night settings. All what you need is to frame, zoom in/out and press the shutter - no delay. Then you can share your photo with your friends through twitter, Facebook, email or your blog.
The dimensions of this camera are 41x41x112mm. It weighs 214gm. It is available in three colors and two storage capacities: electric blue and graphite with 8GB (350 photos) at 399$. And the hot red comes with 16 GB (750 photos) 499$. Although I really like this camera and can`t wait to try it. I feel it is over priced. Especially with the huge number of digital cameras available in the market. To me photography experience is not complete unless you have full control over your camera. This camera controls me rather then me controlling it. The only one time I want the camera to do it all for me is when I use my cell camera. I think we all do use them to document our daily life.
